Anesthesiology Expert Witness Services
Objective, Evidence-Based Medical Legal Review
At Trinity Anesthesia, our team is comprised of Board-Certified physician anesthesiologists who maintain active clinical practices in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. We provide objective, thorough expert witness services for attorneys representing both plaintiff and defense in medical malpractice and personal injury litigation.
Because our physicians are in the operating room daily, we offer opinions grounded in the current, practical standard of care rather than outdated textbook theory.
Expertise & Scope of Review Our expertise covers the full spectrum of perioperative medicine, with a particular focus on high-volume orthopedic and outpatient procedures. We are available for case merit evaluation, medical record review, affidavit preparation, and testimony at deposition or trial.
Key Areas of Clinical Focus:
- Regional Anesthesia & Nerve Blocks: Analysis of complications related to peripheral nerve blocks (including interscalene, femoral, sciatic or popliteal, and adductor canal blocks). We review claims involving nerve injury, needle trauma, local anesthetic toxicity, and infection.
- Neuraxial Anesthesia (Spinals & Epidurals): Standards of care for spinal and epidural placement, management of post-dural puncture headaches, epidural hematomas, and direct cord injury.
- Orthopedic Anesthesia Standards: Perioperative management for total joint replacements (total knee, hip, and shoulder arthroplasty) and sports medicine procedures, including ACL reconstruction and shoulder arthroscopy.
- Anesthesia for Spine Surgery: Airway management during cervical spine procedures, prone positioning safety, and complications arising during lumbar fusions and complex back surgeries.
- Airway Management & Resuscitation: Difficult airway algorithms, dental damage, esophageal intubation, and aspiration events.
- Post-Anesthesia Care (PACU): Monitoring standards for respiratory depression, pain management protocols, and discharge criteria
